A toy called the “Evil Stick” says that it promises fairies and music, but what you actually get is a cackling laugh and flashing lights over a picture of a girl holding a knife to her arm, hidden under a glittery sticker. Scary indeed and very inappropriate for children no matter what the age. Evilstick is being sold at the dollar store for children. People will complain that we need to lighten up, but before you do ask yourself one question. Why in the world would you sell a toy that has a girl cutting herself open to little children? This is as sick as it gets. The store owner said, “The name on it says ‘Evilstick’. So from the name, if I was buying it for my kid, and I have a lot of kids, and I have young ones, I would inspect it before I give it to them.” He also said while he wouldn’t give the stick to a toddler, he thinks it’s okay for older kids — “five, six, seven, or ten years old. I mean they see that on TV every day.” What Amar is failing to see is the image that has so many in an uproar. It is of a girl that looks possessed and cutting herself. Would you still think its appropriate for children 12 and under?
The toy has nothing to do with the chracter that has been labeled with the evil stick. The potentially copyright infringement e of a character from Cardcaptor Sakura on a product not related to the show or referencing the show in any way shape or form makes the toy look harmless. I get that its called an evil stick, but look at how the product is sold and you can see why it can be confusion. The pink lettering, fairies, swirls and snowflakes on the packaging ensured it would catch the eye of toddlers. It looks harmless and doesn’t resemble anything that the store owner is claiming it is. It is pushed under the guise as a harmless princess wand toy. Moustafa said he would take the wands off the shelves if he receives a direct complaint from a customer. What many are failing to see is that the toy has a completely inappropriate message of death blood, gore, and even suicide. That is why people are up in arms about. This is is no coincidence and just shows you the downtrend of America and where it is heading. Read any comments on it and you will see people coming to this mans defense. They have failed to see the evil of this image and what it represents. All I can do is shake my head in disbelief
