I do not know how many times Christian have to defend the fact that Jesus was not married and had no children. These supposed lost Gospels claim that Jesus was married and fathered two children. Now as you look deeper into the mystery you begin to see a corruption of these manuscripts. The man claiming to make the sensational claim that Jesus was married is a film maker by the name of Simcha Jacobovici. Simcha Jacobovici claims that the British Library contains a lost Gospel that reveals this suppress secret. This is not the first time he has been embroiled in controversy. He had claimed to found The Lost Tomb of Jesus and making a documentary on it for the Discovery Channel . Wikipedia: The film describes the finding of the Talpiot Tomb during a housing construction project, and posits that it was the family tomb of Jesus. The film states that ten ossuaries were found in the cave, of which six are the subject of the film. Further, it claims that one of the ten ossuaries went missing years ago, presumably stolen. The excavation report for the predecessor of the Israel Antiquities Authority was written by Amos Kloner, now professor of archaeology at Israel’s Bar-Ilan University. Kloner dissociated himself from the claims made in the documentary. He said it was incorrect to call it “never before reported information” and that he had published all the details in the journal Antiqot in 1996. He had not said it was the tomb of Jesus’ family. “I think it is very unserious work. I do scholarly work…,” Kloner said. “[This film] is all nonsense.”
Can we trust the Bible
He even claimed that Judah was Jesus son. The Judah of the Bible was Joseph brother that cast him into the pit out of jealousy. He is now back making a claim that he has found proof that Jesus was married. This time he goes back to the Old Testament to reveal this shocking claim. Jacobovici work tells of Jesus’s marriage through the story of the Old Testament character Joseph and his wife Aseneth. His central claim is that Joseph was actually Jesus — and that Aseneth was actually Mary Magdalene. If Joesph is Jesus and Judah was his son how was he able to father his own brother? His whole idea revolves around the Old Testament character of Joseph as proof that Jesus fathered children. Someone needs to tell him that Joseph and Jesus are two different characters in the Bible. That is pretty far out if you ask me. Even the majority of Christian historians are not convinced. Diarmaid MacCulloch, professor of the history of the church at Oxford University, says the ‘lost gospel’ claims sound ‘like the deepest bilge’, adding: ‘I’m very surprised that the British Library gives these authors houseroom. Even the staff at British Library itself, have refused to endorse the new book. All Simcha Jacobovici does is add more confusing questions to this revelaion. Does this mean the New Testament is a lie. Was Joseph crucified at the cross? Is Jesus not real? What he is doing is twisting scripture for personal gain and outlandish sensationalism. Do not believe the hype. The Bible can be relied upon. The scriptures can live up to scrutiny. To deny this will be to ignore all the biblical and archaeological truth of the Bible. That may be Simcha Jacobovici intentions all along. That intention is to deny the existence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
THE BLAZE: A document uncovered inside of the British Library in London, England, is said to hold monumental secrets about Jesus’ life, including the claim that he was married to Mary Magdalene and that they had two children together. The manuscript, which was translated by York University professor Barrie Wilson and writer Simcha Jacobovic, is said to be 1,500 years old and to have been written in Aramaic, according to the Independent. Wilson and Jacobovic have penned a new book outlining these purported secrets called “The Lost Gospel,” which promises to take readers “on an unparalleled historical adventure through a paradigm shifting manuscript THW http://abcnews.go.com/video/embed?id=26803889
