Revelation 6:8 And I looked, and behold, a pale horse! And its rider’s name was Death, and Hades followed him. And they were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword and with famine and with pestilence and by wild beasts of the earth.

With So much turmoil and fear concerning the Ebola Virus, some Christians are pondering if this disease is the  disease that is either in the Bible or prophetic in nature. Some have jumped to the conclusion that this virus is the fourth rider of the Apocalypse. Though the verse speaks of diseases with this rider, It also mentions the character of who this rider is. The fourth horseman of the Apocalypse is symbolic of death and devastation. Death and Hades follow close behind. They are given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine, plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth. We must remember that Ebola is never mentioned in the Bible. The one thing we know is that there will be signs before the return of Jesus Christ, but this is not a sign of his second coming. It is a sign for the Day of Christ. This is a sign that the Day of the Lord is near!

This is one of the many signs given to us that the earth is experiencing birth pangs. This is what we are witnessing. At a time when disease have been kept in check and some have been basically eradicated the thought of pestilence affecting the world seemed out of reach. Our minds seem to dictate that such an event isn’t even possible. Man doesn’t seem to take God into consideration or his plans for this world. The Ebola virus could be the pestilence of the fourth rider, but there will be more than just one pestilence that will be affecting the world. The verse above implies that there will be many other pestilences that will be affecting the Earth at a time when it will be crying out for a savior. Luke 21:10-11 Then He continued by saying to them, “Nation will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom, 11 and there will be great earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

The Ebola virus will only intensify. Even if it doesn’t create an outbreak in America, the thought of it breaking containment barriers is real. The Rise of the Ebola virus should be a warning to the world that we are entering into a phase of biblical prophetic events. It is a sign that God is about to make himself known and wrath is about to fall on Earth. The scary thing is that this virus represents a sign of worse things to come. It will be a precursor that The Tribulation is right around the corner! See that you are not frightened, for these things must take place, but that is not yet the end. What we are witnessing is not the end yet but the beginning of sorrows that will befall on this Earth.  We can hear the hooves of the Fourth Rider Approaching in the distance as a sign that the Day of the Lord is approaching
