SCROLL DOWN FOR NEWS LINK AND VIDEOS: Some “think they can have a personal, direct, immediate relationship with Jesus Christ outside of the communion and the mediation of the Church. Such temptations are dangerous and harmful. They are, in the words of the great Pope Paul VI, absurd dichotomies.”- Pope Francis. Is what Pope Francis saying true? Does having a personal relationship with Jesus dangerous? Let’s read from the Book of Revelation, what happens if you create a personal relationship with Jesus. Revelation 3:20 – Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. Does that sound like a dangerous personal relationship to you?

How dangerous is this relationship with Jesus? Well when you Abide in Jesus and his words what you ask him in prayer he will deliver. “IF YOU ABIDE IN ME, AND MY WORDS ABIDE IN YOU, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” (John 15:7). Please read your Bible. Find within the pages of the good book what God wants of you and not man. There is nothing dangerous about creating a relationship with Jesus. On the contrary he asks you to come to him so that he can ABIDE IN YOU. Don’t be left out by man’s error, but ABIDE in the one that was nailed at the cross for you.

CATHOLIC NEWS: Christians are not made in a laboratory, but in a community called the church, Pope Francis said.
At his weekly general audience June 25, Pope Francis continued his series of audience talks about the church, telling an estimated 33,000 people that there is no such thing as “do-it-yourself” Christians or “free agents” when it comes to faith.
Every Christian, he said, can trace his or her faith back to parents, grandparents, teachers or friends. “I always remember the nun who taught me catechism. I know she’s in heaven because she was a holy woman,” he said READ MORE: http://www.catholicnews.com/data/stories/cns/1402635.htm

  1. Of course he doesn’t want us to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Praise Jesus, I’ll never hear Him say “Depart from me, I never knew you”, rather, “Come on in” 🙂

    • Daniel P. Marsh says:

Remember, the Pope did invite people to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ could It be your misunderstanding what he said?See below and link.

“APOSTOLIC EXHORTATION EVANGELII GAUDIUM OF THE HOLY FATHER FRANCIS
TO THE BISHOPS, CLERGY, CONSECRATED PERSONS AND THE LAY FAITHFUL ON THE PROCLAMATION OF THE GOSPEL IN TODAY’S WORLD”

      3. I invite all Christians, everywhere, at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, or at least an openness to letting him encounter them; I ask all of you to do this unfailingly each day. No one should think that this invitation is not meant for him or her, since “no one is excluded from the joy brought by the Lord”.[1] The Lord does not disappoint those who take this risk; whenever we take a step towards Jesus, we come to realize that he is already there, waiting for us with open arms. Now is the time to say to Jesus: “Lord, I have let myself be deceived; in a thousand ways I have shunned your love, yet here I am once more, to renew my covenant with you. I need you. Save me once again, Lord, take me once more into your redeeming embrace”. How good it feels to come back to him whenever we are lost! Let me say this once more: God never tires of forgiving us; we are the ones who tire of seeking his mercy. Christ, who told us to forgive one another “seventy times seven” (Mt 18:22) has given us his example: he has forgiven us seventy times seven. Time and time again he bears us on his shoulders. No one can strip us of the dignity bestowed upon us by this boundless and unfailing love. With a tenderness which never disappoints, but is always capable of restoring our joy, he makes it possible for us to lift up our heads and to start anew. Let us not flee from the resurrection of Jesus, let us never give up, come what will. May nothing inspire more than his life, which impels us onwards!

      • Davaughn says:

Daniel. he’s not talking about a personal relationship, He’s talking about a personal encounter. Huge, huge difference.

        Relationship: noun
        1.
        a connection, association, or involvement.

        Encounter: noun
        5.
a meeting with a person or thing, especially a casual, unexpected, or brief meeting.

What he said makes no sense at all. Why would I seek a renewed encounter with Jesus every day when I can have an eternal personal relationship with Him and have Him by by side 24/7? That’s crazy to think we need to be saved daily, when in reality we are saved the moment we surrender to Jesus 100%, Then from that day on we are saved and it is our responsibility to do our very best to live according to Gods will. I hold on to Jesus with everything I’ve got because to be perfectly honest, even though the concept of becoming a Christian is really simple, being a Christian is really hard, so I don’t know about the rest of you but I need Jesus 24/7 not for just a brief encounter every day!

    • This one is very tricky, because the Bible encourages us not to forsake the “assembling” together with the brethren. In colloquial language it means “don’t stop “churching.” We get together to encourage each other and to share and instruct each other.

This speech has been used to try to demonstrate a demonic scandalous statement that ” a personal relationship with Jesus is not dangerous.” But that’s not what Mr. Francis said. (I don’t mean any disrespect, but His not my Pope. There’s only One Pope. Not even Peter is He.)

What Francis said is that “outside of the church is dangerous.” I agree with him only in principle, not in churchiple. The Christian needs a the right church home to develop a healthy personal relationship with Jesus. He needs to be introduced on the right Jesus. There are many Jesus out there. There’s a Puerto Rican Jesus, I think his name is Charlie. The Jews buried a Messiah some years ago. In Catholicism you have 10,000 virgins, saints galore, a priest on every corner, statues of all of the aforementioned, and a Vicar to the Vicar, before you have a personal relationship with Him who humbled Himself for that personal relationship.

My point is we don’t need fabricated issues or to put anybody’s words or speeches out of context in order to further the truth. We constantly struggle with doctrines based on out of context Scripture. We mustn’t return the favor. The truth always.

      • Davaughn says:

We do not need a church to be saved, nor to keep our salvation. I did not finally surrender to Jesus 100% in a church. I did not have anyone telling me I need Jesus in my life I was already made aware of that years ago, but wasn’t willing to surrender 100% which salvation requires. I had dug myself so deep into a pit no mere man could help me out. I was totally broken and knew that the only way out was Jesus, so I dropped to my knees on my living room floor and surrendered to my Lord and Savior and that was the moment I was saved. It is my faith that brought me to the real Jesus, not a church. Yes church is important no doubt about it, and that’s when I began my search for one that taught strictly from the bible, nothing taken away and nothing added, which I might add, took a while. Unfortunately there are many churches who teach a watered down gospel and which I experienced first hand, but that’s another story.

Church is supposed to be a safe haven for Christian brothers and sisters to come together to support and uplift each other after being beat up the week before out in the secular world we live and work in. It is a place where we share our lives with like minded people and a place to learn about God’s will for us and what he expects of us. Church is a place we can invite people to learn of a better way, and church is absolutely necessary, but it is not absolutely necessary to receive salvation or to keep it. And yes I know many people surrender to Jesus is a church, but not all.

    • adam says:

He never said that…. He said outside of Christ’s Church it’s dangerous. Within Christ’s church, the Catholic Church, the one Jesus founded and told Peter alone he had all authority over without limit… it’s within this church that one is most definitely inspired to and encouraged to have a personal relationship with Jesus. And we can do this in the most intimate of ways when we receive his Precious Blood and Flesh into our own flesh and blood, exactly as Jesus commanded in order to have life.

    • msmarro says:

Your all pathetic ….you call.yourselfs Christians?

      • joecruzmn says:

msmarro, can you please explain why we are pathetic. I am assuming u are Catholic? Are you upset becuase of what i wrote or the fact that Pope Francis said having a personal relationship with Jesus is dangerous. the one you should be upset with is Pope Francis

    • Diane says:

The Pope’s words are being twisted. Part of what he said in tine following sentence is being ignored. To wit: Some “think they can have a personal, direct, immediate relationship with Jesus Christ outside of the communion and the mediation of the Church. Such temptations are dangerous and harmful.” – Outside of the communion and the mediation of the Church. Again: “Outside the communion and mediation of the Church.” What the Pope is saying is harmful are those who think they can have a personal, direct, immediate relationship with Jesus Christ OUTSIDE the Church. Some people think they can have this with Christ even though they ignore the Church He founded. Jesus Christ and his Body of many members – the Church He founded – are not two separate entities. They are One and the same. You cannot have Christ without His Church. It is clear some people are vastly misunderstanding Pope Francis’ message and slandering him in the process.

  2. Harley says:

Not having a personal relationship with Jesus is what’s dangerous. It is clear this Pope doesn’t have a relationship with Christ. He is the one who is in danger and those who believe him.

    • shan fernando says:

Pope Francis described as “dangerous” the temptation to believe that one can have “a personal, direct, immediate relationship with Jesus Christ without communion with and the mediation of the church.”

Obviously, he said, it is not always easy to walk the path of faith with other people. “Sometimes it’s tiring. It can happen that a brother or sister creates problems for us or scandalizes us, but the Lord entrusted his message of salvation to human beings, to us, to witnesses,” he said.

It just proves how absurd the vatican is and that all the people in it are cursed. Typical saying from an antichrist man who talks nothing but $hit like a chocolate fountain of diarrhea streaming out of his gob. You cannot fool the elect and certainly no pompous pope man with a mouth full of iniquity. Lets hope his words wake up those asleep in the catholic religion to help them come out of the madness called he catholic (satanic) church and come to Christ in a personal relationship to be saved.

  5. Osgar Lynch says:

Let’s pray for the Pope. Maybe we’re somehow misinterpreting his message here. It seems as if he may be saying that TEMPTATIONS, not RELATIONSHIPS, are dangerous. It looks as if he’s warning his followers that when they break off from their religious community, and try to develop a relationship with God independently, it can be dangerous. That would explain why he says here that ultimately, our faith came from human relationships — from caregivers or teachers. I think the devil is too smart to prompt a pope to say that relating to God is dangerous.

    • Prayntongues says:

Oscar, you have missed the point of what he said. He is saying that without participating in receiving communion and participation in the RCC (rites, rituals, sacraments) that a person would not be able to have a relationship with JESUS, he said JESUS, not God.
He did not say having a relationship with God is dangerous.
He is moving the RCC in ecumenism, the false belief that all religions and gods lead to the same source, Our Father, YAHOVAH , the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. This will be the new religion of the antichrist.
He believes atheists will enter the kingdom if they live by a good conscience. Even the good works of the “saints” are as filthy rags. No one can do enough on their own to get into the kingdom, much less without Jesus. The catechism states that muslims worship the same God but they do they really worship the same God as the Jews?. They worship Allah. Would you call God, Allah? Of course not, unless you believe Pope Franny, then you would also believe that Krishna and Buddha are also the same as Yahovah, Jehovah, Yahweh, etc. The true Christian God has many names, but those of eastern religions, occultism, even saints and Mary are all false gods and idols.
The military chaplains cannot end a prayer “In the Name of Jesus” or even say his name. It won’t be long before those who do have a true relationship with Jesus, will be persecuted for rebuking all other gods as the same True and Living God.
I am an ex-RCC, I am a born again believer, I have been baptized in water and in the Holy Spirit. I never experienced the presence and power of the God in the RCC. It wasn’t until I read the bible for myself and compared the Word to the RCC doctrines, that I realized that all those teachings are false and easily disputed.
The people in the RCC need to wake up and step out of their pride fullness of being a 3rd-4th-5th generation catholic. It is shameful to be a proud blind and blatant idolator and blasphemer all the while without truly knowing who Jesus is and how to abide with him.
Pope francis is truly fulfilling prophecy of the coming false church and it’s not hard to see who the Whore of Babylon is. The non-catholic Christian denominations are also falling under the same deceptions, they are the daughters of the Whore. Many of those parishioners are just as blind as catholics, I cannot find a true gospel church, I am beginning to see that the true church is become a remnant that is finding fellowship on forums, YouTube, Facebook, a spiritual church without walls.
We are in the ENDTIMES and on the threshold of the tribulation. I plead with all catholics and lukewarm christians to read their bibles NOW! Start with John, read all the way through to revelation, then read all the gospels through to revelation once more and then from the beginning. You will see how God says over and over that He ALONE is Our God, no other shall be given praise or worship. God Bless and shalom.

    • joe says:

This is in direct contradiction to the word of God. Paul claimed to be taught by Christ alone in the desert of arabia for 3 whole years. Seems like the Pope doesn’t read the Bible, not that i expect an antichrist false prophet to ever preach truth.

  6. Lance Olarte says:

How does having a personal relationship with Christ became dangerous? maybe you are the one who is dangerous you are the one fulfilling the prophecy of the Bible 1st sign is the Church and State will unite you are the one that is DANGEROUS!!!!!!!!!

  7. MC says:

Interestingly, Pope Benedict thought the opposite:

“Our knowledge of Jesus is in need above all of a living experience: Another person’s testimony is certainly important, as in general the whole of our Christian life begins with the proclamation that comes to us from one or several witnesses. But we ourselves must be personally involved in an intimate and profound relationship with Jesus.”
    – Pope Benedict XVI, Rome, October 4, 2006

    • Rfunnn says:

That’s why when he states that God gave His Word to men, I almost fell out of the chair, because from one set of “leaders” to the next, the Word of God keeps changing. One says you can have a personal relationship with Jesus, the other says its dangerous…. God is not schizophrenic!!! His Word does not change! We’d better be well aware of what His Word says and what it DOESN’T say, lest we be deceived by False Teachers!!! And ANYONE, regardless of human Title, who says something that is in direct opposition to God’s Word, is the definition of A FALSE TEACHER.

I would rather suggest we all calm down and wait until he has unleashed all his deceptive tactic and then God will see us through:”He shall seduce with flattery those who violate the covenant, but the people who know their God shall stand firm and take action. And the wise among the people shall make many understand, though for some days they shall stumble by sword and flame, by captivity and plunder.” (Daniel 11:32-33).

Wow, I read your link. They didn’t just take that sentence out of context, they chose a few words and took them out of the context of that very sentence! In the quote they use on the website, Pope Francis said, “[some] think they can have a personal, direct, immediate relationship with Jesus Christ outside of the communion and the mediation of the Church. Such temptations are dangerous and harmful. They are, in the words of the great Pope Paul VI, absurd dichotomies.” He’s saying that one cannot have a relationship with Christ if one is separated from the Body of Christ (that is, the Church, according to St. Paul in 1 Corinthians 12). Makes sense, right? Furthermore, in his Apostolic Exhortation, Evangeli Gaudium, Pope Francis states, “I invite all Christians, everywhere, at this very moment, to a renewed personal encounter with Jesus Christ, or at least an openness to letting him encounter them; I ask all of you to do this unfailingly each day. No one should think that this invitation is not meant for him or her, since “no one is excluded from the joy brought by the Lord.”

  11. This is very critical and important. This pope has beguiled the world with his “of the people” and “like Christ” attitude. He has really shaken things up at the Vatican. But lets us look deeper into this. Jesus said to Peter, “On this rock you shall build the church”. And we have now St Peter’s Basilica. He was the first pope. There was nothing wrong with this. It was ordained by God. But what has transpired? Man has taken this power given by God and ultimately used it for evil and wealth and greed and gain. Jesus said. “Love God with all your heart first.” This pope is in defiance of Gods first commandment and that is a sin against the Most High. He will pay for this. The Lord is watching him and He is not pleased. Jesus is in the hearts of His flock and they know His voice! They follow their master and the pope will blindly but with a golden rod walk right off that cliff with his many followers just like the pigs from cast from the demon Legion. The true Shepard will guide His flock to the gates of paradise where He will wipe the tears away and they will drink from the eternal fountain forever. They will be given robes of WHITE and new names and new bodies. There will be no pain no sorrow. Soon….Just hang in there guys. You know who you are. Pray that He guides you when you are called. The Lord is speaking to His chosen now.

  12. Ric says:

Show me where in the Bible the term “personal relationship with Christ” is in the Bible. It isn’t in there. The Bible speaks of where two or three are gathered in Christ’s name, there he shall be. The standing at the door and knocking was in the context of a Church also. The Bible texts clearly show that the Christian life is to be community. It is clear in that, and hard pressed, unless one wants to mangle Bible texts, to make what American Christianity has, something where people go around alone, thinking they are in personal relationship with God, because they said some sort of prayer, and believe their church is what they watch on TV every week, alone, without any connection to others.

If one wants to say that one is touched personally by God as a Christian, that is of the Bible. To go beyond this, is not scriptural. If you subscribe to a do it yourself Christianity, don’t be surprised you have little in the way of church attendance, because you have just preached that the assembly of Christians isn’t needed, eventhough the Bible says people aren’t to foresake it.

    • robert says:

Did you not read where Jesus stated unless you are born again in the spirit you shall not enter the kingdom of heaven, the only way to be born again is to have a personal relationship with him by admitting your sin and acknowledging that he died and was resurrected that you can be atoned of your sin.

  13. Rob says:

From what the translators wrote, and in context, it sounds like the Pope was saying that you can’t have a personal relaships ONLY meaning we must also have fellowship in the church.

That’s what I got from the translation.

I’m not Catholic I am Christian.

I wonder what the other Popes think of this. Ever since I accepted Jesus as my saviour, it has been the best thing that has happened to me. How is Jesus dangerous? Didn’t he say, “Come to me all of you who are tired from carrying heavy loads, and I will give you rest.” Or is the Pope saying that we can’t have a relationship with Jesus without the church? I’m kind of confused.

  18. serloren says:

You can’t wake people up to the lies of Roamn Catholicism – teach them the truth of God’s Word – if you’re going to miscontextualize scripture while trying to do it!

Revelation 3:20 has absolutely NOTHING to do with getting/becoming saved! Christ is talking to the actual church at that point, calling them back to Himself from their backsliding, wandering, and other baloney.

When you misuse a verse it ends up causing other – often much larger – problems later; no matter how good your intentions may be, you need to be careful how you handle the Word. We are to be the sharpest of weapons when speaking for Christ, and that means deep personal study, not just parroting what some TV evangelist, or Youth Camp counselor told you once.

  19. Becky says:

“Father, Forgive them for they do not know what they are doing”.

  20. Joe says:

As it was during the time of our Lord Jesus Christ was not understood. Even today many don’t understand Pope Francis’s words and preaching. That’s why people talk garbage and shit like these about pope Francis. News report want always to pick interest of their readers by changing the statement by using the heading of news. Read only news from trust sources. Otherwise may misunderstood what the pope said.

  21. I have an even more significant comment than yours, Pope Francis I. The death of a saint will be brief before being in the presence of Jesus. Pope Francis, your damnation will last forever.

  22. Smokey says:

The Pope wants us to call him father when Jesus said:

9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.

    Gospel of Matthew
    chapter 23
    verse 9

Therefore by the pope wanting us to call him holy father he is in truth telling us to go against what Jesus said and the pope even commands us to worship him (the pope) as God when in truth the pope is just a man who exalts himself above Jesus which proves that the pope is the prophesied man of sin the son of perdition.

    It is also written:

1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,

2 That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

    3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things?

6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time.

7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:

9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.

15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.

16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

17 Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.

    2 Thessalonians
    chapter 2
    verse 1 through verse 17
