PLEASE SCROLL DOWN FOR NEWS LINKS AND VIDEOS: It was inevitable. The first gay player drafted in the NFL has made history. The praises’ are coming in like a tsunami. Obama calls the selection of Sam “an important step forward.” Obama says that from the playing field to the corporate boardroom, gay and lesbian Americans, prove every day that you should be judged by what you do and not who you are.  The NFL Network unstop coverage of the event has reached a fever point. ESPN’s nonstop viewing of Michael Sam’s kissing his boyfriend is being plastered across the screen over and over again.

Football’s Double Standard? – Michael Sam Praised, Tim Tebow Mocked

Is Michael Sam the first Gay NFL player; hardly. There have been Gay players who have played football before him. Here are just a few former players, NFL offensive lineman Kwame Harris and Defensive Tackle Esera Tuaolo. Michael Sam is the first openly gay player to be drafted and this has many excited.  The question is; could we be seeing a double standard in the NFL? You recall that at one point Tim Tebow was mocked and ridiculed for his faith. Tim Tebow a first round draft pick help elevate the Broncos to the playoffs and beat the Steelers in an AFC first round game. Tebow seemed to have a bright future with the team, but that all changed because John Elway believed he wasn’t Quarterback material  like Peyton Manning. Tim Tebow played for the Jets and Patriots and was eventually cut and released. He hasn’t played in the NFL since. People will say that Tim Tebow was not a very good football player, even though he was drafted in the 1st Rd of the NFL Draft. That was the reason for the media backlash on him. That’s funny I just read the same thing about Michael Sam and it had nothing to do with his sexuality, but more to do with his play. Read this article: Where is the outcry?

Yes There Is A Double Standard

I really hate to hear people mention how much Tebow sucked at his position, but don’t bother to question Michael Sam’s ability even though many scouts believed he wasn’t even that good of a player. What this has come down to is double standard, where one player, Tim Tebow was mocked relentlessly for his Christian faith and another, Michael Sam, is praised for his gay lifestyle with the “kiss seen around the world” with his gay lover. Many see this as not only highly hypocritical, but another example of religious beliefs being attacked. It is this belief that hung Tim Tebow out as a Martyr and banished from the NFL, the same NFL who are supposedly tolerant of other beliefs and lifestyles, except the Christian belief. The media has become obsessed with cramming the Gay lifestyle down the American public’s throat daily. Funny, the same media who profess understanding and tolerance are the same ones who can’t understand those with religious convictions of sin. The rejection of Tim Tebow by his peers in the NFL is a testament of the way society has rejected Jesus Christ and accepted what is sin. This is the double standard and the norm of the way America lives by. This is what America the once great shining city on a hill has become, a rejection in the eyes of God who doesn’t believe in a double standard, but what he considers sinful in his eyes.

THE BLAZE: DeMarcus Walker is a sophomore defensive end for Florida State, the reigning champs of college football. Whether his football skills develop into widespread acclaim, we do not know yet.

But after Walker posted a couple of Twitter messages on the heels of Michael Sam’s historic draft by the St. Louis Rams Saturday, a first for an openly-gay player, Walker could be getting a bit more attention, as Twitchy notes READ MORE:
