SCROLL DOWN FOR NEWS LINKS: Scripture is interwoven with deep meaning. On the surface certain things may seem like there is nothing out of the ordinary. We can take a deeper meaning on some things to come to a conclusion of God’s awesome ways of teaching us to learn scripture. God’s word is enriched with knowledge and wisdom that will stir your mind and heart. If you seek Him with all your heart and call unto Him, He will show you great and wondrous things. The crown of thorns itself is a prophetic fulfillment of Genesis 3:18. Eve and Adam had disobeyed God by eating fruit from the Tree of Knowledge and listening to the most subtle beast in the Garden, the Serpent. Disobeying God brought a curse on mankind and the planet.  After cursing Eve and the Serpent, God said to Adam, “Genesis 3:17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life.” God had cursed the earth and Adam had to provide for his own. God also said to Adam that “Genesis 3:18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field.” Notice I underlined thorns and thistles in that verse. Let me explain why I did it.

Matthew 27:29: “And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put it upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews!” When the soldiers placed the crown of thorns and thistles upon the head of Jesus Christ, blood trickled down his face. When Jesus gave up the ghost at Calvary; He also took that curse that God had bestowed on Adam and the earth. Just like his blood was to redeem mankind, his blood was able to redeem the planet. Hebrews 9:22: “And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.”  God is amazing in how He reveals truth to us. The curse of the thorns and thistles was placed as a crown of thorns on Jesus for the salvation of mankind and the planet. Praise the Lord for His saving grace and the love He has for the human race and creation. Praise Him for the ways He works in our life to reveal scripture.

THE BLAZE: An ancient relic that many Christians revere as Jesus Christ’s “Crown of Thorns” has made a special public appearance at Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris.

The crown – a circular band of branches encased in a gilded, golden tube – is being displayed for three days to mark the 800th anniversary of the birthday and christening of King Louis IX of France, who acquired it in 1239.

The relic was first mentioned by Jerusalem pilgrims in the 5th century and was transferred to Constantinople in the 10th century.

The artifact has appeared in special ceremonies a handful of times in the last hundred years: in 1997, and in 1939 on the eve of World War II, to celebrate seven centuries since it came to France.
