Malaysia Airlines CEO Ahmad Jauhari Yahya said, “There was no indication that the pilots had sent a distress signal, suggesting that whatever happened to the plane occurred quickly and possibly catastrophically”. DAILY MAIL ONLINE: An American national working for IBM in Malaysia has been identified as one of the passengers traveling on board the Malaysian Airlines plane that vanished off the coast of Vietnam as new information concerning stolen passports has raised fears that it may have been an act of terror.
Philip Wood, 51, was identified as the only adult passenger traveling on a U.S. passport on Flight MH307. Two other American travelers have been named as toddlers Leo Meng, 2, and Nicole Meng, 4.

CBS WASHINGTON: Vietnamese air force planes on Saturday spotted two large oil slicks close to where a Malaysia Airlines Boeing 777 went missing earlier in the day, the first sign that the aircraft carrying 239 people had crashed.
The air force planes were part of a multinational search operation launched after Flight MH370 fell off radar screens less than an hour after it took off from Kuala Lumpur for Beijing early Saturday morning.

ISRAEL NATIONAL NEWS: A Malaysia Airlines plane that went missing more than 24 hours ago turned around shortly before disappearing, according to military sources in Malaysia.
The plane, which carried 239 people, was seen suddenly heading back for Kuala Lampur about an hour after takeoff.
