The debate of when the Rapture will occur is a hot topic among some Christians. There are three views of the Rapture. They consist of a Pre-Tribulation, Mid-Tribulation, and Post-Tribulation. I have over the years come to the belief of the Pre-Trib rapture. I know there are a lot of people who will disagree with me, but I promise we can get into that debate in a later column. Even Hollywood got in on the Action when they made the Seth Rogen movie “This is the End”. In the movie all these A-list actors  witness the apocalypse while some of them get swallowed up by sinkholes, get eaten by cannibals, and are attacked by huge Demons. You also see a Rapture occur before Armageddon commences on Hollywood.  So it looks like even Hollywood may believe in the Pre-Trib Rapture. Let’s not forget the Left Behind movie being made. For now I want you to read and watch the reasons that make me believe in the Pre-Trib Rapture. Let the debating begin and provide your comments on which view of the Rapture you believe in.

IO9.COM: Left Behind the book series (and Kirk Cameron relevance generator) is getting a full-blown feature film (sans Kirk Cameron). Instead, it features Nic Cage as the pilot whose wife leaves him for Jesus, and here is your first clip.

The official synopsis has this picture centered around “a small group of survivors are left behind after millions of people suddenly vanish and the world is plunged into chaos and destruction,” but let’s flesh that out a bit. Based on the novels by Tim LaHaye and Jerry B. Jenkins, this movie is really about the dispensationalist interpretation of the “End of Days READ MORE: http://io9.com/first-clip-of-nic-cage-from-the-christian-apocalypse-mo-1511603156

SMH.COM.AU: If there’s a God, Seth Rogen reckons he might just have got in his good books with his raucous new comedy about a group of actor friends stumbling their way towards The Rapture as the apocalypse hits Hollywood.

”Maybe this movie is a step in the right direction,” says Rogen, who is in Australia to promote This Is The End, which he co-wrote, co-produced, co-directed and co-stars in. ”It’s affirming good morals READ MORE:http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment/movies/seth-rogen-desperately-seeking-salvation-20130617-2oe87.html

PRE-TRIB.ORG: Supporters of pretribulationism generally believe that John Nelson Darby (1800–1882) revived this lost New Testament teaching through intense Bible study during convalescence from a riding accident in December 1827 and January 1828. Evangelical opponents of pretribulationism often put forth theories that cast Darby in a bad light. For example, some say Darby got it from Edward Irving (1792–1834), while others say it originated from the prophetic utterance of a fifteen-year old Scottish lassie Margaret Macdonald (1815–1840). Both sources are understood to be tainted since Irving was considered exocentric and heretical and Macdonald’s prophetic utterance is thought to be demonic. What is the evidence that Darby developed his view from his own personal study READ MORE: http://www.pre-trib.org/data/pdf/Ice-JohnNelsonDarbyandth.pdf

LAMBLION.COM: The Rapture is a glorious event which God has promised to the Church. The promise is that someday very soon, at the blowing of a trumpet and the shout of an archangel, Jesus will appear in the sky and take up His Church, living and dead, to Heaven.

The Term

The term “Rapture” comes from a Latin word, “rapio,” that means “to catch up, to snatch away, or to take out.” It is, in turn, a translation of the Greek word, “harpazo READ MORE: http://www.lamblion.com/articles/articles_rapture4.php

MOM LOOKING UP.WORDPRESS.COM: He makes an interesting statement about the verse in 2 Thessalonians 2 which talks about the day of the Lord will not come until there is first a falling away and that man of sin is revealed.  We all know that the Greek word used for “falling away” is apostasia, from which most of us get the word apostasy. He points out that this word can be translated in two different ways. One, as we know it to mean, the falling away from the faith or departure from the faith. Two, simply as a departure. He suggests that when a passage has two possible meanings, as closely related as they are in this passage, it is SOP to assume God means BOTH interpretations READ MORE: http://amomlookingup.wordpress.com/2014/01/30/pre-trib-rapturefalling-away-video/

  1. Well, you probably realize by now that I too believe in the Pre-trib rapture. It makes the most sense, considering. The biggest point being: Why would Jesus “beat up” His bride before taking her home? While Christians (those who realize the truth after the rapture) will face persecution from the antichrist and his followers, the worst part of the tribulation stems from God’s wrath upon an evil world/people. It also has to do with getting the attention of His chosen people, Israel. Those who say we must suffer in the flesh for Christ have misunderstood. The tribulation is the “terrible Day of the Lord” and his bride, the church, has been promised that they have no condemnation. We aren’t going to be punished for sins that Christ has already paid for. This applies to eternity as well as the wrath poured out in the last of the last days.

BTW-thanks for the link up 🙂

No Biggie on the link up. I wanted to Reblog but I saw the trialer for the Left Behind movie and I couldnt resist. So I linked your post. I also am in the same boat that you are in concerning the Rapture. I have talked to people about this and some pretty heated discussions have taken place. We will see soon enough the which Rapture will happen and I do not think its the last two I posted

re: Why would Jesus “beat up” His bride before taking her home?
You mistake the wrath of Satan directed against Christians. Christians are being persecuted and killed all over the world *today* in the name of the false prophet Mohammed. Revelation reads this way: fifth seal – Christian Martyrs, sixth seal – Rapture of the church *during* the great tribulation, seventh seal – wrath of God poured out *after the rapture* against the throne of the beast who rules the entire earth. This is the terrible day of the Lord when all the Christians have been removed from the earth via rapture.

Please put aside those worthless books and movies. If you read Revelation you will see that Jesus blesses the persecuted Christians and promises that those who are beheaded for the name of Christ will reign with him during the Millennial reign of Christ on this earth.

Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment rises for ever and ever. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and his image, or for anyone who receives the mark of his name.”
Rev 14:12 This calls for patient endurance on the part of the saints who obey God’s commandments and remain faithful to Jesus.
Rev 14:13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say, “Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”

      • Indeed Christians are being persecuted all over the world TODAY and any that may be around during the tribulation will have to face the persecution and probable execution by antichrist.

  2. youngearth says:

Scripture is clear that multitudes of Christians will endure the great tribulation.

Revelation message is meant for the church and the Word clearly teaches that the church will be delivered during the sixth seal.

I’m glad to hear that there is going to be another left behind movie. I really liked the old ones accept they ended too soon. I have read the series twice. I too believe in the pre-trib rapture. Actually, I hope to be in it and not die first. Wouldn’t it be the most amazing experience? To be changed in the twinkling of an eye! No more sin nature and a new body to boot. The most imortant thing of course is being with Jesus forever.
