What is it about the human spirit that drives another to sacrifice their lives for those that they love? The best example is simple: God sent his only begotten son to die for us on the cross.

Hope, courage, valor, and many other words describe our vets who have given their all for our individual freedoms. They come in all different colors and creeds, From Minnesota to Texas, from Arkansas to New York. They gave up their lives so that freedom could flourish on this land. They reached the highest honor for our nation to spread hope to those nations seeking a shining example of democracy. A glimmer of what a great nation to what it can be when it rings the bells of liberty. What would we be as a nation without our freedom? Where would we be as a nation without sacrifice? These men fought in battlefields where they saw the blood of their brothers shed on foreign soil. They shed the tears and blood for the wings of liberty to spread far and wide in this great nation. They rose in overwhelming odds to overcome evil to spread light into the darkest corners of the world. They sent their tired and hungry to us when their nation rejected them so that they could taste a sample of what these men died for. Our nation is on a path that speaks of dishonor to these men who gave so much. In the end those that had a lot to lose did little to preserve it. Let’s never forget what these men did for us and their homeland.

“You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We will preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we will sentence them to take the first step into a thousand years of darkness. If we fail, at least let our children and our children’s children say of us we justified our brief moment here. We did all that could be done.”- Ronald Reagan
