Welcome to the new updated The Christian Times blog. A new look, a new post. Check them both out.

How many of us who do not live in the city step outside to look up at the stars on a nice warm breezy night and stand in awe at God’s vast creation.  We look up to the night sky and see a vast ocean of stars. I remember when I was little.  I would sneak out of the run down mobile trailer we lived in.  We were so poor and there were times in my life when I was younger that I felt no hope.  Yet when I would look up to the night sky and see those stars I felt like someone was talking to me, telling me that someday things would get better.  In that instance I felt close to God and I didn’t even know him yet.

There is a secret hidden in the stars that have gone unnoticed to so many Christians and secular people.  A secret that truly isn’t a secret at all but has been infected with a disease called Idolatry.  See, evil has a way of trying to usurp the word of God through the ages but has failed to do so.  The Occult sleeps with anybody and she brings herself down low to prostitute herself with anything to hide the true gospel.  At one time the stars spoke and told the story of the gospel.  Like anything that the devil can get his hands on, he corrupted it and called it Astology.  You don’t need to go any further than to read the bible about what the stars were meant for: Genesis 1: 14 when he said, “Let there be lights in the sky and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years.”  Before the bible was written, this was the way the world read the gospel.

Many cultures speak of a woman who was to bear a child that would come to destroy the serpent.  The Egyptians, Chaldeans, and Assyrians have similar corrupted ideas about Jesus’ coming.  It is said that the Egyptians’ Pyramid of Giza references these stars and that a prophecy is laid out in that pyramid.  The sphinx before the pyramid is supposed to be a time marker. That sphinx has two bodies that reference a woman and the body of a lion.  Some say this is a reference of a virgin woman who would bear a coming messiah.  Basically, that sphinx represented Virgo the Virgin and Leo the lion in the Constellations.  If some of you read the bible, then you know that the lion half reference the lion of Judah, who represents Jesus Christ and his second coming.  Why do you think they were fascinated with the stars?  Dr. Adam Clarke states that “Astronomy was the soul of the Egyptian religious system.  They knew of the gospel, but like anything else it became corrupted during that time.”  Josephus says of Moses in his Book Antiquities of the Jews, “One of those sacred scribes, who are very sagacious in foretelling future events truly, told the king, that about this time there would a child be born to the Israelites, who, if he were reared, would bring the Egyptian dominion low, and would raise the Israelites; that he would excel all men in virtue, and obtain a glory that would be remembered through all ages. Which thing was so feared by the king, that, according to this man’s opinion, he commanded that they should cast every male child, which was born to the Israelites, into the river, and destroy it.”  Does this sound eerily familiar to you similar to Matthew 2:1-4 when the wise men approached King Herod about the star in the east that herald the coming of the messiah?  When the wise men did not return to King Herod did he not send his army to slaughter every two-year-old and under in Bethlehem?  That is because they were able to understand the signs in the stars. The corruption comes from the Hebrew Mazzaroth, which is the Hebrew Zodiac or constellations. This Mazzaroth is mentioned in Job 38:32:  “Canst thou bring forth Mazzaroth in his season?  Josephus also references who created this zodiac in the sky when Seth and his lineage ‘were the inventors of that peculiar sort of wisdom which is concerned with the heavenly bodies, and their order”.  Well, how do we know that?  Because the lord makes it clear when he states in Job 31:38:  “Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?”  Wow, the bible mentions Pleiades and Orion, a hunter in Greek mythology.  Amos 5:8 mentions who created Orion when he says “[Seek him] that maketh the seven stars and Orion.”  The Greeks corrupted who Orion was in the constellation. All false religions from antiquity has borrowed from the true word and corrupted it under false gains to sway away so many from God.  It is awesome that God from the very beginning was laying the foundation of truth in the stars. Isn’t it so amazing to know that the heavens declare the glory of God?  The stars bear witness to the creator.  They point to his wisdom, power, and awesome love.  This is the same true god who wrote the gospel in the constellations.
